Welcome to My Page!
I am an Associate Professor (with tenure) in Finance at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), Carmona College of Business. Before joining SVSU, I worked as a finance faculty member at San Diego State University (SDSU, with tenure), a trader on the stock exchange, a fund manager, a chief research officer, a stock analyst, and an industrial engineer. I moved to academia because I enjoy doing research in finance. My current interdisciplinary research focuses on:
* Structural Models of Credit Risk and the Firm
* Capital Structure Theory
* Derivative Pricing
These subjects analyze default decisions by corporations and how the market evaluates the credit of the firms. To replicate my research, please visit my research page.
I also have teaching experience in:
* Corporate finance (introductory, intermediate)
* Case-based applied corporate finance (financial management capstone course)
* Financial derivatives (introductory, advanced)
* Investments (introductory, intermediate)
* Student-managed investment fund (about $100,000)
* International finance (introductory)
* Financial institutions and money
